Suzuki Jimny.

First one I’ve seen in the flesh. Surprisingly, it’s actually genuinely small - not as small as an OG Ji mn y obviously, but the littlest offroader I’ve seen in a long time. Of course being a modern vehicle, the price is that it’s tiny inside - this one had a baby seat in the back seat, the size of which was enough to make it pretty clear that they’re basically a 2+2, or a 2 seater plus shopping .

Not great: ANCAP 3 star : one of three cars they’ve tested in the last 3 years that have do ne that badly.

OTOH the other two were the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Mustang , and it did WAAAY better than the ‘S tang in the occupant protection category. S o it’s not as bad as it sounds.

I still wouldn’t put my kids in it for open road work though ....
